REDI Cincinnati is the first point of contact for companies considering the Cincinnati region as a perfect place to locate and grow. REDI brings the area’s top business and community leaders together to ignite the regional economy.
AMEND partnered with REDI to bring a vision of data visibility and accessibility to life. The purpose of the project was to connect REDI’s multiple data sources to enable their team to assess which businesses might add a facility, expand, or relocate in the near future. Putting together our two passionate and talented teams was a recipe for success. Both companies have a tremendous commitment to the Cincinnati region and compliment each other well as true partners.
We caught up with a few AMEND team members who worked together with REDI on the project. Kicking off the conversation with their excitement over the technical side (Gradient Boosted Machine Learning and lots and lots of math), we wanted to share their overall experience.
“It was really cool to work with a more right-brained organization that is entirely dedicated to helping our community. Every person we interacted with at REDI was excited to see the project pieces come together and benefit the team. A benefit to each of their roles means a benefit for Cincinnati – driving people and businesses to the city, and finding the “right fits” faster. The most fun part (besides the math) has been the REDI team – they were awesome to work with,” said Dan Schwendler, Project Leader.

“Their enthusiasm was contagious and we both share that support for our community. Both teams had some big moments on the project, especially when we were able to see initial results just three months in. Two of the three companies identified as “most likely to launch a new project” did just that. This tool can have tremendous impact for REDI — and for many other immediate applications we are already seeing.”
