AMEND Ventures and Mount Adams-based investment firm RKCA have teamed up to acquire Robert Rothschild Farm (RRF), a local maker of gourmet jams and sauces. RRF is well-known for its high-end products like its roasted pineapple habañero sauce.
RRF products are distributed nationally at large retailers including 1,500 Kroger stores, Walmart and Costco, as well as at specialty retailers. It also sells online through its website. Jon Jeffer, previously RRF’s vice president of sales and marketing, will serve as CEO.
Preserving customer relationships and the supply chain were top priorities as the sale closed to ensure minimal disruption in the customer experience. AMEND and RKCA plan to grow RRF by building up its e-commerce business and boosting sales in specialty and traditional retail stores.
AMEND will be focused on setting up the business processes and supporting strategic decision making. AMEND brings a deep background in scaling businesses and building out supply chains.
“We’re excited,” Jeffer said. “We’re building a new company here, we have a great brand, and we have people who are excited and passionate about it. The customers are crazy, militantly loyal. We have started a new company, are stabilizing the business, and can focus on growing.”
